Best Laid Plans

Today, I was supposed to be heading to beautiful North Wales for a long weekend on my motorcycle with some friends for what, for me at least, has become an annual thing since 2011.

The route was planned.

Hotels booked.

Then Coronavirus came along and "ruined" my plans.

Well, not just my plans, but everyone’s plans.

But, it's not the end of the world, as I'm pretty sure I can still rearrange the trip before 2020 comes to a close.

And it's kind that same with fitness and weight loss.

To be successful, especially in the beginning you should plan things.

Sit down once per week and plan...

When you are going to do your workouts.

What you are going to eat for 3-5 days in advance.

Your days off.

Then set about actioning that plan.

Do your workouts on the days you said you would.

Eat the meals you've planned and (maybe) prepared in advance.

Relax on the days you planned into your schedule.

But don't be so rigid in your planning that if something unexpected crops up that you can't adapt and make a new plan.

Remember, a healthy waistline is the result of a healthy lifestyle.

It's a journey.

And just like any long journey, you'll come across obstacles, and things will happen that you didn't plan for.

But, if you really want to get there you'll improvise, adapt and overcome as they were super fond of saying in the Marines 🙂

You got this.
